Because of their geographical location, villages in the Tramuntana Range differ from towns in other parts of Mallorca due to the fact that their structure and size are totally conditioned by the space available and not the other way around.

Due to specific, historical, determining factors, in general the villages are quite small with no more than 10,000 inhabitants – only Andratx and Sóller are exceptions to this rule. Their economy is based on the service industry and residential tourism, bearing in mind the virtual non-existence of mass tourism in this area.

The Tramuntana area has quality hotels in the medium to high-end category, aimed at clients with a high purchasing power.

The traditions we find here are linked to agriculture and its subsidiary products, in particular the production of olive oil from the olive trees and other products derived from fruit trees such as marmalade or apple jam, and the pig slaughter (local sausages such as sobrassada, botifarrons etc.) and high quality sheep and goat’s milk cheese. These are the products we want people to discover in our establishments and our estates. Come and enjoy them!

You will find popular festivals in their purest state in this area: the bonfires of Sant Antoni, the celebrations of the Mare de Déu d’agost, the processions of decorated fishing boats, the Sant Bartomeu’s celebration with the re-enactment of the battles between Moors and Christians, common to the whole Tramuntana Range…Have fun and remember, you are in the Tramuntana Range, so take things easy…
