Because
of their geographical location, villages in the Tramuntana Range
differ from towns in other parts of Mallorca due to the fact that
their structure and size are totally conditioned by the space
available and not the other way around.
Due to
specific, historical, determining factors, in general the villages are
quite small with no more than 10,000 inhabitants – only Andratx and
Sóller are exceptions to this rule. Their economy is based on the
service industry and residential tourism, bearing in mind the virtual
non-existence of mass tourism in this area.
The Tramuntana area has quality hotels in the medium to
high-end category, aimed at clients with a high purchasing power. |
